So first we will share our top 5 Sandals resorts, then a few other options based on location and other things you might be looking for.

How to choose the best Sandals resort

Consider the following aspects when trying to choose the best Sandals resort for your trip. It’s always helpful to speak with a travel agent who specializes in Sandals resorts, as they can provide additional insights and help tailor your vacation to your specific needs.

Price

Your budget is going to have a huge effect on which Sandals you choose. Costs range from less than $200 a night per person to over $1000 per night per person, so you can find the best Sandals resort for you with a variety of options.

Check Current Travel Deals

When looking at prices, make sure you check current specials before deciding which Sandals Resort is best for you. Each week there are new specials on 7 different suites, there are always last-minute deals and they have seasonal sales as well.

Water Preferences

Are you a beach person or a pool person? Do you want a pool with a party vibe or a quiet pool where you won’t be disturbed? You’ll want to keep this in mind as you review each resort.

Accommodations

Sandals Resorts have some of the most unique accommodations available in the Caribbean. There are overwater bungalows, rooms with private pools, and Rondoval suites, and swim-up suites. You can find rooms in the middle of the action or secluded away from everything.

Resort Locations

When choosing your Sandals Resort you’ll want to check the location. How far is the resort from the airport? How long will the flights be to arrive? Some of the resorts are within 15 minutes of the airport, while some will take 90 minutes of windy roads. The location will have a huge impact on the overall feel of your Sandals vacation.

Sandals Resorts Ranked

Sandals Saint Vincent (St. Vincent & the Grenadines)

We just visited Sandals Saint Vincent in May of 2024 and it is easily the best Sandals resort. Now it may not be the best for you because it is the most expensive Sandals resort and flights are a bit trickier to navigate, but overall the food, service, beaches, pools and destination all come together to make it a unique and inspiring experience.

The resort is a 40-minute shuttle from the airport and getting through customs doesn’t really take long since the plane you arrive on is likely the only one arriving anytime soon. (Make sure you pay extra to sit near the front.)

Sandals St. Vincent is nestled near the beach and surrounded by mountainous terrain formed from volcanic activity. The water is clear and beautiful with plenty of room on the beach. There are four pools on-site and a spa with an additional pool, cold plunges, sauna, and steam room.

The food and drink at the resort really shine with new concepts including a local family-style restaurant, salad restaurant, Italian, seafood, a steak house and several others.

  • Location: Saint Vincent
  • Highlight Features: Brand new resort in an off-the-beaten-path destination.
  • Suitable For: Anyone with the budget available and decent flights.

Sandals Dunn’s River (Ocho Rios, Jamaica)

Recently added to our list is Sandals Dunns River. One of the newest Sandals resorts, it has gotten great reviews from early visitors and we agree. The resort is full of improvements over the traditional Sandals concepts. For example, there are three specialty bars with unique craft cocktails. The food is better at the unique dining concepts and the service was top-notch.

The pool is river-style with one swim-up bar. Of course, you’ll want to visit Dunn’s River Falls nearby during your stay.

  • Location: Ocho Rios, Jamaica
  • Highlight Features: New and reimagined resort with new food concepts.
  • Suitable For: Travelers seeking modern luxury in a romantic Caribbean resort.

Sandals Grenada (Pink Gin Beach, Grenada)

For us, Sandals Grenada is next for the best all-around resort because it is a well-rounded resort with something for everyone. It is located near the airport, has great food, and has a quiet pool plus a more lively pool with a swim-up bar. All of this is made better with great staff and a beautiful island to explore.

  • Location: Nestled on Pink Gin Beach in Grenada.
  • Highlight Features: Known Brings contemporary luxury to the unspoiled landscapes of Grenada. It boasts stunning pools, waterfalls, and innovative accommodations such as SkyPool Suites and Rondoval Suites.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian (Gros-Islet, St. Lucia)

Another of our favorites is Sandals Grande St Lucian. The resort is located on our favorite island in the Caribbean and has a very calm beach perfect for relaxing or trying our motorized water sports. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and the service is top-notch.

The only drawback is the distance from the airport.

  • Location: On a peninsula adjacent to Pigeon Island National Park in St. Lucia.
  • Highlight Features: Offers panoramic views, overwater bungalows, and Rondoval suites. The calm waters are ideal for water sports.
  • Suitable For: Those wanting a beachfront experience, water activity enthusiasts, and honeymooners or couples desiring overwater accommodations.

Sandals Regency La Toc (Castries, St. Lucia)

Also on Saint Lucia is Sandals Regency La Toc. The resort is very large with two distinct areas. We prefer the quieter sunset bluff area which has a pool with a swim-up bar and sunset views. The beach is one of our favorites, but that is because we like a beach with some waves, while a lot of people prefer a calm beach.

  • Location: Set on 220 acres in Castries, St. Lucia, with a dramatic oceanfront cliff setting.
  • Highlight Features: Home to the Sunset Oceanview Bluff Millionaire Butler Villa with Private Pool Sanctuary and its executive-style golf course.
  • Suitable For: Golf enthusiasts and travelers seeking an upscale, glamorous experience combining beachfront and hillside environments.

I’d have to pick Sandals Regency La Toc as the best Sandals resort. It may be far from the airport, but we had a blast getting there on the ferry boat. The service was great and there was plenty of food options. Would definately return!

Sandals Royal Plantation (Ocho Rios, Jamaica)

Sandals Royal Plantation is the smallest Sandals resort and it is polarizing. Most people love the intimate feel, but some think it’s too small. They have the best service since every room is a butler suite and there simply are not that many people around to serve. The beach is calm and relaxing with clear blue water. What’s great is that you also have access to everything at the nearby Sandals Ochi, which is much larger.

  • Location: Situated on the northern coast of Jamaica.
  • Highlight Features: An all-butler, all-suite boutique resort known for its intimate setting. Offers afternoon tea and is the only Sandals with both a private cove and an overwater bar.
  • Suitable For: Couples looking for a more exclusive, peaceful, and personalized experience.

Sandals Royal Barbados (St. Lawrence Gap, Barbados)

Sandals Royal Barbados has something for everyone. When combined with Sandals Barbados next door, the resort is huge. There are plenty of dining options, a beautiful beach, multiple pools to choose from, and fun activities. The resort is a short drive to the resort and the people of Barbados are some of the most friendly in the Caribbean.

  • Location: Adjacent to Sandals Barbados in the lively St. Lawrence Gap region.
  • Highlight Features: Features a contemporary design with state-of-the-art facilities like the rooftop pool and bar, a gourmet donut shop, and a four-lane bowling alley. Home to Skypool, Swim-up, and Millionaire Suites.
  • Suitable For: Travelers seeking modern luxury and unique amenities in a lively Caribbean destination.

Each of these Sandals resorts offers a unique experience based on its location, design, and offerings. The best Sandals resort for you will depend on your personal preferences related to ambiance, activities, and desired level of luxury. However, all of them deliver the high standards of luxury, service, and all-inclusive amenities that the Sandals brand is renowned for.

What is the best Sandals resort for foodies?

If food is as important to you as it is to us you will find great options at every Sandals resorts, but in our opinion the best Sandals resorts for foodies are Sandals Dunn’s River, Sandals St. Vincent, Sandals Barbados & Royal Barbados, Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Royal Caribbean.

Sandals Royal Caribbean & Sandals Montego Bay

One of the prime benefits of staying at Sandals Royal Caribbean is its proximity to Sandals Montego Bay. Guests of Royal Caribbean are granted full access to all the Sandals Montego Bay restaurants.

We loved Royal Thai which offers a unique dining setting that requires a boat ride to the island. The server encouraged us to try as many menu items and they were all delicious.

The Bombay Club was equally as impressive with delicious food and amazing service.

Beyond these specialty restaurants, Sandals Royal Caribbean offers an array of other dining options, ensuring that every palate, whether craving Italian delicacies or Caribbean staples, is satisfied. You’ll find Butch’s Steakhouse, Kimonos Hibachi Grill, and tons of other options between the two resorts.

Sandals Barbados & Sandals Royal Barbados

When you stay at one of the two Sandals in Barbados, you can easily walk to the other within 5 minutes to enjoy the restaurants at both.

Both sides offer great options, but Sandals Royal Barbados houses our favorite restaurants. The newest restaurant is The Greenhouse, a farm-to-table concept with fresh ingredients. Chi was another one of our favorites with Dim Sum and other Asian specialties.

For breakfast, there are tons of options from donuts, crepes, a la carte restaurants, or buffets.

The sheer variety, authenticity of flavors, and innovative concepts like farm-to-table dining ensure that guests are always in for a culinary delight. It’s not just about satiating hunger; it’s about embarking on a gastronomic voyage of discovery.

What is the best Sandals resort for beaches?

Sandals resorts are sprinkled across some of the Caribbean’s most pristine beaches. If you are looking to enjoy a beach during most of your time on vacation, here are our top choices to help you narrow it down.

1. Sandals Grande St. Lucian (St. Lucia): This resort is uniquely positioned on a peninsula, so guests get to experience both the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The beaches are spectacular, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the historic Pigeon Island. The water is calm, so you can even do motorized water sports while you are there.

2. Sandal Royal Plantation (Ocho Rios): The beaches here are simple, but you can count on calm clear water. What sets these beaches apart are the service. It is the best Sandals Resort where you can stay on the beach all day and know you will always be able to get food and drinks served to you.

3. Sandals Royal Barbados & Barbados: The beach here is gorgeous and one of Michelle’s favorites, with powder soft white sand and beautiful clear water. The only drawback is that it’s not very big, so it can be hard to get a good lounge chair unless you wake up super early.

4. Sandals Negril (Jamaica): Located on the famous Seven Mile Beach, this resort boasts one of Jamaica’s most beautiful stretches of coastline. The beach’s long expanse is perfect for romantic walks, sunbathing, and water activities. You can start your day at breakfast with your feet in the sand and end your evening with a beautiful sunset.

5. Sandals Grenada: This beach is small, but was my personal favorite. The swimming area is enclosed by rocks, providing for fun snorkeling off the beach. There are occasional waves which keep things interesting and the water is beautiful.

Is Negril Safe?

Safety is always a question when traveling to a new place or country. As travelers we want to be courteous of a different area and culture, while also safely enjoying everything this new place has to offer.

So when people are considering Negril as their next Jamaican destination, they often wonder: Is Negril safe? The truth is Negril is one of the safety areas in all of Jamaica! Still there are ways to ensure your safety and enjoy your stay in this Jamaican paradise.

Negril Safety

When it comes to overall safety, Negril is one of the best destinations in Jamaica. The local government and police force work hard to ensure guests and tourists feel safe while visiting their incredible city.

Part of that safety comes from the sheer amount of police and security guards around the city. This is a highly visited area of Jamaica, so the local government places a big emphasis on ensuring a high level of safety and security.

One of the biggest safety concerns in Negril is petty crime – pickpockets, petty theft, and the like. These can be bigger concerns for travelers and tourists, but there are ways to minimize any concerns as well. You’ll find plenty of tips and tricks for staying safe while traveling in Negril below.

Safest Places in Negril

While Negril has a high level of overall safety, there are areas that top the list. These are great places to spend time and experience the wonder of Negril.

One of the best places to visit is Seven Mile Beach. This iconic, seven mile stretch of white sand beaches is a hot spot for everyone in Negril. Not only is it gorgeous, but it is also incredibly safe. You can relax on the beach without any worries.

You can also safely enjoy Booby Cay. This is a small little island off the coast of Negril. You’ll find a stunning view and great water activities to enjoy.

YS Falls is another great place to experience and is very safe for tourists. This is one of the best-known waterfalls in all of Jamaica.

And, if you want a little peace and quiet from all the hustle and bustle of Negril, you can find a serene moment at Bluefields Bay Beach. This isolated beach is on the southwest side of Negril and is considered very safe.

Places to Avoid in Negril

Like any other city in any other country, there are areas that should be avoided. These are areas that are generally not well-lit or are further away from some of the more well-traveled areas frequented by tourists.

Specific areas to avoid in Negril are Lime Tree Lane, Blue Cave Castle, and PeeWee Lane. These areas have higher reports of crime among locals, so it’s better to avoid them all together.

Safety Tips for Traveling in Negril

When it comes to traveling in and around Negril, Jamaica, there are a few tips to keep in mind to ensure your safety.

  • Remain in Tourist Areas

Tourist areas across Negril are both well patrolled by local police and well-lit. This means they are some of the safest areas in the area. If you don’t want to venture out further, make sure you contact a trusted, local tour company and go with a trusted group of people.

  • Avoid Poorly-Lit Areas

This is especially true at night. It’s hard to be aware of your surroundings and situation when it’s dark. Make sure the areas you are visiting are well-lit and well traveled.

  • Avoid Public Transport at Night

Public transportation, like public buses, can be great places for pickpockets and theft. These are often crowded so people may not notice if something is missing. It’s a good idea to avoid buses at night. Plan to have your activities completed and return to your resort before night.

  • Be Polite But Firm

Negril has a lot of street vendors who will try to sell you different souvenirs and trinkets. These vendors can be a little pushy. There’s nothing wrong with saying no, but remember to be both polite and firm. Then just continue walking.

  • Don’t be Flashy

Expensive things – electronics, jewelry, etc. – can draw the attention of pickpockets, so you’ll want to leave those things at home or at the resort. Take only what you need with you as you explore so it doesn’t draw attention or get lost while you’re adventuring.

So, is Negril safe? Yes, it is! Not only is it one of the best areas in Jamaica, but it’s also one of the safest. As long as you are aware of your surroundings and situation and keep these safety tips in mind, you’re sure to enjoy your time exploring Negril, Jamaica.

Is Montego Bay Expensive?

Treasure Beach, Jamaica

Looking to plan a trip to Montego Bay? You’ve picked a great spot! Montego Bay is one of the most popular destinations in all of Jamaica, but what does that mean for the cost?

Many people planning a trip to Montego Bay wonder how expensive a trip to Montego Bay might be. And the cost can play a big role in when you visit and how you plan the details of that trip. Fortunately, we’ve put together a cost breakdown so you can see just how much a trip to Montego Bay might cost.

Is Montego Bay Expensive?

The good news is that Jamaica itself is one of the most affordable Caribbean islands, so your travel budget can go a little bit further. But different cities and areas of the island can be more or less expensive.

When it comes to Montego Bay, however, prices tend to be a little bit more expensive. Comparatively, Montego Bay prices across the board are considered moderate. Really this means other areas of the island are more affordable, but there are also other areas that are more expensive.

As a point of reference, the cost for a one week trip to Montego Bay averages around $2800 for two people. But that prices can fluctuate quite a bit depending on the hotels and activities you select.

Average Price of Hotel in Montego Bay

When it comes to planning a trip to Montego Bay, you’ll need to find the right place to stay. Montego Bay has a diverse range of accommodations; from luxury all-inclusive hotels, to overwater bungalows, to chic beachside villas or shacks. Picking which one works best for you and your travel companions can depend on cost.

There are over 100 resorts and hotels in and around the Montego Bay area. Some of these accommodations are more upscale and put the emphasis on luxury elements and experiences. That usually comes with a higher cost. And, of course, there are other options that are more affordable but can offer fewer amenities.

A big draw for Montego Bay is the number of all-inclusive resorts. These resorts offer tons of experiences and amenities at a single price point. This can be a good option if you are looking to spend a lot of time in and around the resort – and you don’t want to worry about planning out every little detail about your trip.

When it comes down to a per night cost, the average price of hotels in Montego Bay is around $240 per person, per night.

Average Price of Attractions in Montego Bay

Montego Bay offers a wide variety of activities that allow you to experience different parts of this beautiful island nation. You can go bamboo rafting, have romantic dinners in seaside caves, enjoy romantic picnics on the beach, or enjoy sunset catamaran cruises.

But narrowing down those choices can largely depend on the cost of each. Determining the cost of different attractions around the Montego Bay area can be tricky. Many different companies can offer the same experience at very different prices.

Keep in mind that there are plenty of free tours and experiences, but guided tours are also available. Some of those guided tours can cost a few hundred dollars depending on group size and length of the tour.

Take a look at the average price of a couple of the top attractions in and around Montego Bay.

Best Tours and Experiences in Montego Bay

Another great option in Montego Bay is rafting. A popular rafting spot is Martha Brae River. This usually costs around $75 per person.

A great activity in Jamaica is horseback riding. There are plenty of amazing options for experiencing something so iconic. On average, a horseback riding trip can cost around $150 per person.

Average Price of Food and Drinks in Montego Bay

Another big cost category is food and drink. If you choose to stay in an all-inclusive resort, the cost of food and drinks is often included in the price of your stay. But if you choose to stay in other types of accommodations or want to spend the day experiencing some of the local culture, you’ll want to visit some local hot spots.

On average, people spend around $80 per day on food and drink. Again, that can and will vary widely depending on where you eat and how many times per day you plan to eat out.

Average Cost of Transportation in Montego Bay

Traveling around Montego Bay also comes at a cost. Depending on how you like to travel, you can find transportation options from public transportation to car rentals. On average, people spend about $15 per day on transportation around Montego Bay.

Most people get around by guided tour buses and shuttles, but those are often reserved for specific tour companies and experiences. The good news is these can be arranged through the tour bus companies or many resorts can help you get set-up. The cost for this type of transportation is usually covered by the cost of the tour and activity.

You can also find plenty of taxis around Montego Bay. The cost of a taxi will depend on where you’re going, so it’s hard to nail down an average cost. Just be sure to use official taxis to ensure your safety.

If you really like the idea of getting around when and how you want, then you’ll want to look into a car rental. This is often the most expensive form of transportation, but you have a lot more freedom about where you go and when.

Best Time to Visit Montego Bay

Montego Bay is a great “anytime” destination. The weather is warm year-round, but there are better times to visit. The best time to visit is the island’s dry season, which runs from mid-December to mid-April. There is little rainfall, tons of sun, and warm temperatures.

Montego Bay’s rainy season is between May and November. If you don’t mind some frequent rain showers, then this isn’t a bad time to visit either. In fact, the island is at its greenest during these months, so it’s a great time to experience another side of the island.

You do have to consider hurricane season when booking your travels. While hurricanes in Jamaica are rare, they do still occur. August, September, and October are when Jamaica is at its highest threat of hurricane-developing storms, so if you are making plans during those months be aware of changing weather conditions.

So, is Montego Bay expensive? The answer is moderately. The total cost of a trip to Montego Bay can vary widely, but it sits somewhere in the middle as far as costs across the board. Know that there are plenty of great options for all types of budgets, so you’re sure to find something you’ll love!

How to Spend 2 Weeks in Jamaica

If you’re ready to really experience the wonders and magic of Jamaica, then you’re ready to spend 2 weeks in this incredible island nation. But knowing how to spend 2 weeks in Jamaica may seem a little overwhelming.

Fortunately, we’ve crafted a detailed itinerary so you know where and how to spend 2 incredible weeks in Jamaica. Check it out!

Where to Stay

A big decision for your 2 weeks in Jamaica is where to stay. The island of Jamaica has plenty of incredible resorts and hotels. You’ll like to split your time between Ocho Rios, Montego Bay, and Negril and your budget will dictate where you will be staying.

Also, if you are spending two weeks in Jamaica you probably do not want to spend all your time on an expensive all-inclusive resort, so you’ll want to choose from a variety of accommodations.

Where to stay in Ocho Rios

For luxury seekers, Sandals Dunn’s River Resort stands out as a top choice, boasting an all-inclusive experience with lavish amenities, private beaches, and an array of dining options. This resort caters to couples seeking romance and relaxation, with private villas, personal butler service, and exclusive beachfront access.

Alternatively, Moon Palace Jamaica, another all-inclusive resort, provides a family-friendly atmosphere with spacious rooms, numerous pools, a kids’ club, and exciting activities such as a FlowRider® wave simulator and snorkeling excursions.

Where to stay in Montego Bay

Montego Bay, known for its stunning beaches and vibrant culture, offers a range of accommodations that cater to diverse preferences and budgets.

We recommend the S Hotel. Located in Montego Bay, this hotel is more affordable than Sandals but gets rave reviews. While staying at the resort you can explore the nearby areas and take a day trip into Kingston for more cultural experiences.

For those seeking a luxurious, all-inclusive experience, Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay is an excellent choice. This adults-only resort features elegant suites with ocean views, a private beach, and an array of gourmet dining options. The resort also boasts a world-class spa, multiple pools, and nightly entertainment, ensuring that guests have both relaxation and excitement at their fingertips.

Where to stay in Negril

Negril, famous for its stunning seven-mile beach and laid-back vibe, offers a range of accommodations that cater to different tastes and preferences

For some laid back resorts that are mid priced, I would choose Skylark Negril Beach Resort or Nirvana on the Beach. These are not the luxury resorts you might be expecting in Jamaica, but if you aren’t spending much time on resort it doesn’t matter all that much.

Negril, famous for its stunning seven-mile beach and laid-back vibe, offers a range of accommodations that cater to different tastes and preferences. For those seeking luxury and all-inclusive amenities, Sandals Negril Beach Resort & Spa is a top choice. This adults-only resort features beautifully appointed suites, some with swim-up access and private plunge pools. Getting Around Jamaica

Two weeks in Jamaica gives you the opportunity to do a little bit of traveling around the island. When it comes to transportation, most people will take provided shuttle services to group excursions or from the airports.  You can also call a taxi to get your around pretty much anywhere.

There are tour operators that will give you a better deal if you work with them a lot. Additionally you may take a taxi with a drive you like and get their phone number to keep you moving around the island.

2 Weeks in Jamaica Itinerary

2 weeks in Jamaica is plenty of time to see different parts of the island nation of Jamaica. But without a plan, the days can get away from you. Check out this 2 weeks in Jamaica itinerary to get an idea of where to go and how long to stay.

Day 1 – Arrival

The first day of your trip is going to require some travel. Most flights arrive between 11 am and 4 pm. This will allow you to get to your resort in time to relax some, eat dinner, and enjoy the night entertainment.

Montego Bay Airport

Days 2-5 – Ocho Rios

Ocho Rios is home to some of the most incredible natural landscapes on the island, and it’s all just waiting to be explored. So it’s a great place to go for a little bit more adventure and adrenaline.

Spend some time exploring Dunn’s River Falls. This gorgeous set of waterfalls is more than worth your time. Climb to the top of the falls, then explore some of the caves and grottos that dot the around, too.

You can also feel the breeze while ziplining down through the rainforest of Mystic Mountain. If you love classic movies, you can also catch a bobsled ride down that same mountain.

We love going to the Blue Hole and tubing down a spring fed river while we are in the area.

When you aren’t out exploring, spend some time by the pool or relaxing on the beach.

Day 5 – Explore the Blue Mountains

For coffee lovers, you can’t miss a day in the Blue Mountains. Just a short drive or ride outside of Kingston, you’ll find these gorgeous mountains. This is where most of Jamaica’s amazing coffee is grown, so you’ll get to see coffee from the plant to the cup. Plus, there are plenty of places you can go to taste some.

On top of that, the Blue Mountains offer a different perspective of Jamaica. Away from all the hustle and bustle of the city or the (sometimes) loud and crowded beach areas, the Blue Mountains are simply breathtaking.

Day 6-9 – Montego Bay

Montego Bay is one of the most popular spots in all of Jamaica, so it’s a great place to start your Jamaican adventure. Plus, this area of the island has everything all in one spot – culture, history, the beach, and the ocean.

Take some time to explore the historical aspects of Montego Bay. You can find plenty of knowledge tour guides to give you the best experience. Choose from places like Rose Hall Great House or stroll along the “Hip Strip” to do a little shopping and taste some of the best local food.

Then it’s time to hit the beach. You can relax in the sand or try out any number of water sports. Find some great activities and sand at Doctor’s Cove Beach or Cornwall Beach.

Day 10 – A day trip to Kingston

A big draw to the capital city is the history and architecture. You can enjoy long strolls down different streets examining the beauty of the historic buildings, but you can also get a glimpse of Jamaican royalty. Bob Marley’s home can be found near Kingston, so be sure to stop in for a tour of the home and early days of the legend, Bob Marley.

Days 11-14 – Negril

The next few days are for another great Jamaica hotspot, Negril. This area is known for the beaches and is home to the iconic Seven Mile Beach. This long stretch of pristine Caribbean beach is perfect for a little relaxing or a little snorkeling.

Negril is also home to the water park, Kool Runnings Adventure Park. So, if you’re looking for a fun and different way to cool off, then visit this iconic water park.

Plus, there are plenty of great restaurants and bars along the beach. And this area is often considered to be the best place for a Caribbean sunset. Plan to end your night in a restaurant overlooking the ocean as the sunsets.

Best Time to Visit Jamaica

Jamaica is a great “anytime” destination. The weather is warm year-round, but there are definitely better times to visit than others. The best time to visit is the island’s dry season, which runs from mid-December to mid-April. There is little rainfall, tons of sun, and warm temperatures.

Jamaica’s rainy season is between May and November. If you don’t mind some frequent rain showers, then this isn’t a bad time to visit either. In fact, the island is at its greenest during these months, so it’s a great time to experience another side of Jamaica.

You do have to consider hurricane season when booking your travels. While hurricanes in Jamaica are rare, they do still occur. August, September, and October are when Jamaica is at its highest threat of hurricane-developing storms, so if you are making plans during those months be aware of changing weather conditions.

Expected Cost for 2 Weeks in Jamaica

The cost for 2 weeks in Jamaica can vary depending on the time of year and accommodations you choose. This is good news because you’re in control of the budget, and you can put more money in areas you think are more important.

In general, 2 weeks in Jamaica can average around $2500 for one person and about $5000 for two people. So keep that in mind as you start to make your plans. It can easily cost less or way more than this.

Jamaica or Cuba

Are you trying to choose between Jamaica or Cuba for your next Caribbean vacation? It can be tough to decide, as both are fabulous destinations with a lot to offer.

Before you make your decision, you’ll want to get the details on both of these great vacation spots. Check out this comparison to help you decide whether to visit Jamaica or Cuba.

Jamaica or Cuba Quick Take

While both are beautiful islands with lovely beaches, rich culture, welcoming people, and delicious food, Jamaica is a lot more developed than Cuba and offers many more resorts and activities.

Is Cuba Even an Option for Americans?

The short answer is yes! Cuba is a possible travel destination for Americans, but it does require a little extra planning. Based on the history between the U.S. and Cuba, there are some restrictions when it comes to traveling to this island nation.

There are 12 different travel categories that allow U.S. citizens to travel to Cuba:

  1. Family visits
  2. Official U.S. government business
  3. Journalism
  4. Professional research and/or meetings
  5. Educational activities
  6. Religious activities
  7. Public activities
  8. Support of the Cuban people
  9. Humanitarian projects
  10. Activities through private foundations
  11. Transmission of information
  12. Authorized export transactions

The ins and outs of each category can be overwhelming, but there is one category that makes it fairly easy to travel to Cuba: in support of the Cuban people (#8 on the list). You will have to fill out special paperwork in order to do this, and keep your receipts and records of the places you visit and any money you spend.

This means that while in Cuba, you can only visit privately owned businesses. On a trip like this you will get more of the local experience and can immerse yourself in the Cuban culture. But it’s important to note that due to legal restrictions, U.S. citizens cannot use credit or bank cards while in Cuba, so you must bring enough cash for your visit.

Jamaica or Cuba: Overview

Jamaica is one of the largest and most visited islands in the Caribbean, with tons of direct flights from the U.S. There’s a huge variety of activities available, including snorkeling and scuba diving, hiking, ziplining, river rafting, sailing, shopping, and exploring historic sites and local towns. There are several distinct tourist areas, each with its own character, including Montego Bay, Negril, and Ocho Rios.

Jamaica offers plenty of nightlife options and all sorts of restaurants from casual beach shacks to upscale gourmet. It also has a diverse range of accommodations from inexpensive inns to vacation rentals to luxury resorts. The island is especially known for its many all-inclusive resorts, which range from affordable family options to romantic adults-only retreats.

Cuba is a small island nation just about 100 miles off the coast of Florida at the closest point. The nation of Cuba is made up of over 4100 islands and cays that surround the main island. A country with a rich history and much to see, Cuba is home to 9 UNESCO sites ready for exploration.

There are only a few airlines that offer flights to Cuba from the U.S. Travelers who visit Cuba come for the vibrant culture and delicious food as well as the incredible scenery and the friendly people. However, the local economy is in rough shape so a visit here can be very different from other types of Caribbean vacation.

Jamaica or Cuba: Beaches

Both Jamaica and Cuba have incredible beaches, but the beaches in Jamaica tend to be more developed.

Jamaica Beaches

With over 635 miles of coastline, Jamaica has some lovely and well-known beaches, such as Frenchman’s Cove, Doctor’s Cove Beach, and Seven Mile Beach (often considered the most beautiful beach in all of Jamaica). These beaches are very tourist friendly and offer tons of amenities, so you can stay all day. They are also often crowded.

Cuba Beaches

Cuba, like Jamaica, is an island and therefore has many different beaches. Also like Jamaica, they are lovely white-sand beaches lining the warm, vividly colored Caribbean Sea. The beaches in Cuba are pristine and less developed than those in Jamaica, however. Some of the best beaches in Cuba include Varadero in Matanzas, Cayo Jutias near Vinales, Playa Pilar in the Northern Cays, and Cayo Coco.

Jamaica or Cuba: Cost

Both Jamaica and Cuba are known as some of the cheapest islands in the Caribbean, but Cuba is cheaper than Jamaica. The cost of a trip to Jamaica can be inexpensive or pricey depending on when you go, what you do, and where you stay.

Flights from Jamaica range depending on the time of year and departure city, but can be as low as $200 or $300.  Accommodations also range from inexpensive inns and guesthouses to mid-range hotels to luxury resorts. To save money, it can be helpful to talk to a travel agent, as they often have access to special deals and discounts. You can find all sorts of dining options in Jamaica, from cheap beach shacks to gourmet restaurants.

Getting to Cuba from most major cities in the U.S. is pretty affordable. The final cost depends on a number of factors–departure city, destination in Cuba, etc.–but the average cost for a flight is between $300 and $400. Sometimes you can find deals to make the cost even lower.

Accommodations tend to be very affordable, but it depends on what type you’re looking for and where in Cuba. You can find AirBnB options as low as $25-$30 a night. In larger, more metropolitan areas of the island, you can find hotel and resort stays starting around $115 or $120 a night. The daily food cost is really low as well. If you eat every meal out and about, you can expect to spend about $40 on food per day, per person. Plus, the food is incredible!

Jamaica or Cuba: Weather

Jamaica and Cuba are both found in the Caribbean and are not that far apart. This means they experience very similar weather patterns and seasons. Temperatures are warm all year and there is a dry season and a rainy season. Both islands are susceptible to hurricanes, so if you’re traveling during hurricane season (June through November) be sure to pay attention to the forecast and get travel insurance.

Jamaica Weather

The best time to visit Jamaica is during the dry season, which runs from mid-December to mid-April and offers tons of sun. However, this is also the high season, so it can be more expensive. Jamaica’s rainy season is between May and November. August, September, and October are when Jamaica experiences its highest threat of hurricanes.

Cuba Weather

The best time of year to visit Cuba is between November and April. The island temperatures average between 78 and 85 degrees, so it’s not too hot. This is also the time that most travelers visit the island, so be prepared for some bigger crowds.

The rest of the year, May through October, is Cuba’s wet season. These months see more rainfall, so it can be more of a challenge to plan activities. It’s also hurricane season from June to early November, with the greatest chance of a storm from August through October.

Jamaica or Cuba: Resorts

Jamaica and Cuba both offer a variety of accommodations, but Jamaica has much more of a selection. It’s also important to note that U.S. citizens may not stay in any property that is partially or completely owned by the Cuban government or military, which many hotels are. There is a “prohibited list” that you should check. If you want to be completely safe, stay at “casa particulares,” which are private guesthouses that work like AirBnBs.

Jamaica or Cuba: Safety

Recently, many countries have issued new travel advisories and warnings for people traveling to Jamaica. There has been an increase in violent crime across the island, which can make travel there more dangerous. Both the U.S. and Canada have issued “reconsider” travel warnings for those planning on taking trips to Jamaica. If you travel to Jamaica, it’s a good idea to check any travel advisories and adhere to standard safety guidelines (more details in our “Is Jamaica Safe?” article).

The same advice goes for Cuba. There has been a rise in petty crime around the island, especially robbery, and some countries have issued travel advisories. The current U.S. State Department travel advisory is a Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution. If you go to Cuba, they recommend not carrying valuables or wearing expensive jewelry or watches, paying attention to your surroundings, and not resisting any robbery attempts.

Jamaica vs. Costa Rica

When considering Jamaica or Costa Rica for a vacation, both are great options for sun, sand, outdoor adventures, culture, and food. But choosing between the two might be more challenging than you thought. Check out this comparison of Jamaica vs. Costa Rica to find out which has the most to offer you.

Jamaica vs. Costa Rica Quick Take:

In general, Jamaica is an easy-to-get-to island with tons of all-inclusive beach resorts and some fun outdoor activities, while Costa Rica offers more variety with amazing jungles, mountains, and unspoiled beaches to explore.

Jamaica vs. Costa Rica: Overview

A key difference between Costa Rica vs. Jamaica is that Costa Rica is a country that offers both Pacific and Caribbean coastlines, while Jamaica is an island in the Caribbean. The mountains and jungles in Costa Rica are also much more diverse and extensive than in Jamaica.

If you’re looking for beautiful beaches, swaying palm trees, great food, and plenty of outdoor activities like watersports and hiking along with historic sites and nightlife, Jamaica is wonderful. The tourist regions of Jamaica cater to all tastes. If you want miles of white-sand beach, Negril is ideal. If you want something close to the airport with plenty to do and vibrant nightlife, consider Montego Bay. If you want outdoor adventures, go to Ocho Rios or the mountainous interior, which offers activities like jungle tours and ziplining.

In Costa Rica, you’ll find stunning beaches and excellent food but also lush jungles, amazing rainforest, dramatic mountains, and a pristine coastline that showcases the ocean. Imagine starting your morning on a deserted beach, a cup of coffee in hand as seabirds dive for their breakfast, or falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing outside your open window. On the Caribbean side you’ll find beautiful white-sand beaches with great snorkeling and scuba diving, and on the Pacific you’ll find rougher water that’s perfect for surfing.

Jamaica vs. Costa Rica: Beaches

A lot of travelers go to Jamaica or Costa Rica for the sun and the sand, and there are plenty of good reasons for that. Both Jamaica and Costa Rica have incredible beaches for locals and tourists to enjoy.

Jamaica Beaches

Jamaica is known for its beaches. The northwest coast has dozens of resorts along the many breathtaking beaches. While some stretches are private, there are also plenty of public beach areas so you can easily beach hop on your vacation.

One of the most famous beaches in Jamaica is the iconic Seven Mile Beach. This long stretch of white sand and clear water is lined by some of the most luxurious resorts on the island. Plus, there’s plenty of beachside dining and tons of watersports. You’ll never be bored.

Costa Rica Beaches

Costa Rica has over 800 miles of coastline on two sides–Pacific and Caribbean–which means there are plenty of incredible beaches. Some are perfect for soaking up the sun, some for swimming, some for snorkeling, and some for surfing. The best part? All beaches are public, so you’ll never run out of great options.

You can also find a variety of sand types, from bright white sand to golden sand to darker colored sands, plus all sorts of coastlines from lush jungle and palm trees to striking cliffs. Some of the top beaches in Costa Rica are Playa Hermosa, Playa Conchal, and Playa Manuel Antonio.

Jamaica vs. Costa Rica: Cost

When it comes to Jamaica vs. Costa Rica, there can be quite a difference in overall cost, but it really depends on when you’re going, what area you’re staying in, the accommodations you choose, and the activities you do.

The cost of a trip to Jamaica can vary greatly from inexpensive to pricey. You can get deals and discounts to make your trip affordable, especially if you travel during the offseason. There are budget, mid-range, and luxury resorts to choose from, and restaurants range from cheap local spots to gourmet fine dining. Activities can be free, such as hanging out on the beach or swimming, or quite expensive like scuba diving excursions.

All-inclusive resorts in Jamaica can cost between $200 to several thousand per person per night, but will include all your meals and most activities. In addition to that, you’ll have the cost of flights, which will vary depending on your departure city and when you travel.

Costa Rica, on the other hand, can be a little bit cheaper since most accommodations are more rustic. For a week-long stay, you can spend as little as $1500, but the total cost varies widely. We spent $4000 for a week the last time we were there so it really depends on the accommodations you choose, as well as what activities you do.

However, flights to Costa Rica can be more expensive than flights to Jamaica. It depends on where you’re flying from and what time of year you’re visiting.

Jamaica vs. Costa Rica: Weather

Jamaica and Costa Rica are a little over 700 miles apart, with Costa Rica being to the southwest of Jamaica. Jamaica is an island in the Caribbean Sea and Costa Rica is in Central America, in between the Caribbean and the Pacific. While they are both tropical destinations, they do have some differences in weather.

For both countries, you do have to consider hurricane season, which is June to November. If you are making plans during those months, be aware of changing weather conditions and make sure you get travel insurance.

Jamaica Weather

Jamaica is a wonderful “anytime” destination, as the weather is warm year-round. However, there are definitely better times to visit. The best time to visit Jamaica is the dry season, which runs from mid-December to mid-April. There is little rainfall, tons of sun, and warm temperatures.

Jamaica’s rainy season is between May and November. If you don’t mind frequent rain showers, then this isn’t a bad time to visit either. In fact, the island is at its greenest during these months, so it’s a great time to experience another side of Jamaica.

Costa Rica Weather

If you want to be in Costa Rica during its dry season, you should plan your trip from mid-December to April. The dry season boasts plenty of sunshine, but this also means Costa Rica is filled with travelers. If crowds and higher prices don’t bother you, this is the ideal time to relax on the beautiful Costa Rican beaches and explore its lush rainforests.

In case rain doesn’t bother you, plan your escape outside the dry season to enjoy the tranquility and lower prices of this mesmerizing country.

Jamaica vs. Costa Rica: Resorts

Jamaica and Costa Rica are both filled with tons of resorts, including luxurious all-inclusive options. Not only will you find plenty of great amenities at these locations, but you’ll also have a lot less planning to do before your vacation starts.

Vacationing in Jamaica or Costa Rica isn’t just about the beaches. Both of these tropical destinations have plenty of other incredible experiences to consider.

Jamaica Activities

Costa Rica Activities

There are tons of amazing beaches throughout Costa Rica. Make sure you plan some time to relax on the beach. Costa Rica is a great place to take a surf lesson or go on a sunset cruise.

Costa Rica is also home to tons of zipline courses. Some courses even have you zipline by waterfalls and over valleys with horses walking around. It’s an incredible way to see and experience nature.

There are several places in Costa Rica where you can enjoy white water rafting during some times of the year. This is a fun vacation activity that will be hard to forget.

Costa Rica is also known for many food experiences including coffee and chocolate. You can tour coffee plantations throughout the country and learn about the process of going from plant to your coffee cup.

Jamaica vs. Costa Rica: Safety

All travelers should be concerned about their safety when visiting unknown territory, whether it is big cities or smaller, more secluded areas. Regardless of where you travel, you should always practice common sense travel safety, and be aware of your surroundings.

For more information, check out our article “Is Jamaica Safe?”

Costa Rica is not only safe, but it also hosts some of the friendliest people in the world. Once you are there, their “Pura Vida” lifestyle, perfectly combined with the lovely weather, is intoxicating and instantly makes you feel at home. Also, the Costa Rican government provides additional security resources in most areas frequented by tourists.

However, just like in any other destination, there might be problems. This is why personal safety is very important. So, to be safe, don’t display signs of wealth such as wearing expensive watches or jewelry, and don’t carry large amounts of cash.

Also, keep your personal belongings close and leave valuables in the hotel’s safe. Use reputable transportation services, and pay attention to your surroundings.

The Verdict: Which Is Better – Jamaica or Costa Rica?

So, which one is best? If you’re looking for an all-inclusive island getaway with plenty of relaxing fun, then Jamaica is a great option. How to Spend 10 Days in Jamaica

If you’re thinking of taking a trip to Jamaica, you might want to consider planning a slightly longer visit. Spending 10 days in Jamaica will give you plenty of time to do it all: relax, explore, shop, adventure, and sightsee.

But planning a trip for so many days can be a little overwhelming, so we’re here to help with our itinerary for 10 days in Jamaica. This way you can make sure you’re exploring all that this incredible island has to offer.

Best Time to Spend 10 Days in Jamaica

Jamaica is a fun destination any time, with warm temperatures all year. However, there are some times that are better than others to visit. The best time to visit Jamaica is the island’s dry season, which runs from mid-December to mid-April. With little rainfall you’ll enjoy tons of sun, but since this is peak season, prices and crowds can be higher.

Jamaica’s rainy season is between May and November. If you don’t mind some frequent rain showers, then this isn’t a bad time to visit either. In fact, the island is at its greenest during these months, and prices are lower.

Note that hurricane season also occurs during the rainy season, from June to November. While hurricanes in Jamaica are rare, they do still occur. August, September, and October are when the threat is highest so if you visit during those months, stay aware of the weather and get travel insurance.

Expected Cost for 10 Days in Jamaica

The cost for 10 days in Jamaica can vary depending on the time of year you visit and accommodations and activities you choose. This is good news because you’re in control of the budget, and you can put more money into areas you think are more important.

In general, 10 days in Jamaica can average between $1100 to more than $3200 per person. So keep that in mind as you start to make your plans.

To save money, look for deals online. It can also be helpful to talk with an expert travel agent, who may have access to special discounts.

With a longer stay on the island, you’ll be able to do a little more exploring. To make that movement a little easier, you’ll want to find some trustworthy and affordable transportation options. If you book excursions, transportation will likely be included. You can also call taxis to get pretty much anywhere, but if you’re going all around the island, you might want to consider renting a car for this length of stay. Be sure to use a reputable agency–ask at your resort for recommendations, or make the booking in advance.

Day 1 – Arrival

Days 2-3 – Montego Bay

Montego Bay is one of the most popular spots in all of Jamaica, so it’s a great place to start your Jamaican adventure. Plus, this area of the island has everything all in one spot: culture, history, the beach, and the ocean.

Take some time to explore the historic aspects of Montego Bay. You can find plenty of knowledgeable tour guides to give you the best experience. Choose from places like Rose Hall Great House, Greenwood Great House, and the Green Grotto Caves. Then stroll along the “Hip Strip” to do a little shopping and taste some of the best local food.

Next it’s time to hit the beach. You can relax on the sand or try out any number of water sports. Two of the best beaches in the area are Doctor’s Cove Beach or Cornwall Beach.

Day 4 – Relax

Day 4 is a great time to take a little break and relax around the resort. Many resorts have tons of fun activities for you to enjoy. You can start the day off with a dip in the pool, then spend some time enjoying watersports or whatever activities are available.

You could also lie on the beach, do a little shopping, have spa services, or enjoy the entertainment. Every resort offers different options, but you’ll be able to have a little fun and relaxation before heading back out to explore the rest of Jamaica.

Days 5-6 – Negril

The next two days are for another great Jamaica hotspot, Negril. This area is known for its beautiful beaches including the iconic Seven Mile Beach. This long stretch of pristine white sand is perfect for relaxing or snorkeling.

Negril is also home to the water park, Kool Runnings Adventure Park. So, if you’re looking for a fun and different way to cool off, then visit this iconic water park.

Plus, there are plenty of great restaurants and bars along the beach. Since this area is often considered to be the best place for a Caribbean sunset, plan to end your night in a restaurant overlooking the ocean.

Day 7 – Ocho Rios

Ocho Rios is home to some of the most incredible natural scenery on the island, and it’s all just waiting to be explored. This is a great place to go for a little bit more adventure and adrenaline.

Spend some time exploring Dunn’s River Falls. This gorgeous set of waterfalls is more than worth your time. Climb to the top of the falls, then explore some of the caves and grottos around it. The Blue Hole is another amazing spot to check out.

You can also feel the breeze while ziplining down through the rainforest of Mystic Mountain. Or catch a bobsled ride down that same mountain, just like the famous Jamaican bobsled team did (as shown in the movie “Kool Runnings”).

Blue Lagoon in Port Antonio Jamaica

Day 8 – Port Antonio

Port Antonio is an area of Jamaica that is all about natural beauty and relaxation. This area of Jamaica is known for attracting celebrities and people looking for a little privacy. What better way to find that privacy surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscapes on the island.

You can find some adventurous areas in Port Antonio like Reach Falls and Blue Lagoon. Both of these are full of amazing beauty and offer the chance to experience some of the most untouched areas of Jamaica.

Day 9 – Resort Day

This is your last full day in Jamaica, so it’s time to relax a bit before leaving so you can return home recharged. Spend a day at the pool or on the beach, and schedule a spa appointment to treat yourself.

Planning 7 Nights in Jamaica: Where to Stay

The first step for a successful visit is finding the right place to stay. Jamaica is known to be one of the best places in the Caribbean for resorts. You can find just about everything from inexpensive rentals to boutique hotels to all-inclusive resorts. What you choose will depend on both your budget and the vibe and amenities you want.

While the final choice in hotels will come down to which area you want to stay in on the island, here are some of our top recommendations. Something to note is that all the Sandals resorts in Jamaica have a promotion where you get the 4th night free if you stay 3 nights.

Sandals Dunn’s River, Ocho Rios

Choose from a selection of dining options serving a variety of cuisines, enjoy tropical drinks at multiple bars, and lounge on the huge and beautiful private white-sand beach. The lively offerings of Montego Bay are nearby, including shopping and nightlife.

Sandals Royal Plantation, Ocho Rios

In our opinion, Sandals Royal Plantation is an excellent choice if you are looking for a quiet and sophisticated resort but still want plenty to do. There are only 74 ocean-view suites nestled along the beachside at Sandals Royal Plantation. They all include butler service, and since the resort is small, your butler and other staff will always be nearby to serve you a drink, bring you some food, help you schedule an excursion, or anything else you may need.

You can laze by the pool before heading off for a round of golf (with free green fees and transportation), or enjoy a wide variety of complimentary watersports including snorkeling, scuba diving, and paddleboarding. There are multiple restaurants and bars onsite, including the only champagne and caviar bar in Jamaica, and you also have access to all the amenities, restaurants, and bars at Sandals Ochi.

Jamaica Inn, Ocho Rios

Ranked as one of the best boutique hotels in Jamaica, Jamaica Inn offers old-world charm, unspoiled scenery, and a pristine beach for a stress-free getaway. There are no TVs or radios in the 48 tastefully designed suites to encourage conversations and relaxation. Suites also feature outdoor showers, private plunge pools, and soaking tubs.

5 Nights in Jamaica Itinerary

Now that you’ve decided on when to visit and where to stay, it’s time to get down to the business of planning your daily activities. With just 5 nights in Jamaica, you’ll want to consider traveling around a bit without rushing through each day for the best experience.

Day 1 – Arrival

Day 2 – Excursions

On day 2, it’s time to go on an excursion.

If you are looking for culture, visit Kingston which sits closer to the middle of the island. It’s a longer distance from a beach, but has plenty of great things to experience.

Two of the biggest draws in Kingston are the Bob Marley Museum and Devon House. One of the most iconic musicians in history, Bob Marley had his home in Jamaica. The museum focuses on both Bob Marley’s life and his impact on the musical landscape. You’ll love seeing Bob Marley’s guitar and the place he called home.

The Devon House was home to the Caribbean’s first black millionaire. Not only is this 19th-century home full of rich history, it also houses park facilities, restaurants, and a few shops. You’ll be able to experience so much of Jamaica’s history and culture in a single stop.

If you are interested in outdoor fun, check out the Ocho Rios area. Some of the biggest attractions in the Ochos Rios area include the Blue Hole, Dunn’s River Falls, Yaaman Adventure Park, and Mystic Mountain. You can hike and climb the falls, bathe in the natural pools, or set up for the day on Dunn’s River Falls beach.

Day 3 – Shopping

After adventuring and exploring, it’s time to take in a little culture and do some shopping. Spend the day exploring different craft markets or go shopping on the Hip Strip in bustling Montego Bay. You’re sure to find some incredible souvenirs to remember your trip.

Day 4 – Relax

In order to return home recharged, take this day to relax around the resort. Spend a day at the pool or on the beach, and schedule a spa appointment for extra pampering.

Jamaica has everything including fantastic beaches and watersports, zipline and ATV tours, golfing, river rafting, paintball, waterfalls, great bars and nightclubs, and more. In fact, it might be hard to narrow down your list of bachelor weekend activities.

Do you want it to be more relaxed with plenty of time on the beach? Or maybe you’re looking for something a little more exciting with plenty of water sports and activities. Once you know the vibe, it’s time to plan a few activities. Check out some of the most popular activities and destinations for a Jamaica bachelor party.

Bus Bar Crawl

Negril

A popular Jamaica bachelor party activity is a bus bar crawl. This is similar to many other bar crawls but with a slight twist: you’ll move between the bars on a bus. Not only will you be able to see and experience different bars throughout the Negril area, but you won’t have to worry about getting yourself and your group from bar to bar.

Enjoy different drinks and atmospheres. You’ll get to sample iconic Jamaican drinks as well as experience live entertainment and an amazing sunset, and explore a few underground caves.

Scuba Diving

Montego Bay

Another great Jamaican activity is scuba diving. Montego Bay not only offers excellent areas to dive, but it also has a scuba school for anyone who isn’t certified.

Get your entire group involved, and enroll in the scuba diving program before getting out into open waters. You’ll get to see some incredible marine life while making a lifelong memory. Or, just head out on a snorkeling excursion–no training needed, and you’ll still see some amazing sights.

ATV Tour

Negril

If you’re looking for a little more adventure, then you might consider adding an ATV tour to your bachelor party agenda. In Negril, you can experience Jamaica while zipping by in an ATV or on horseback. Both options will get your adrenaline going while seeing the lush and beautiful landscape.

Mountain Bike Tour

Kingston

Around Jamaica’s capital, you can find tons of different tours. One is a bicycle tour through the Blue Mountains. But be prepared, this tour takes nearly 10 hours to complete!

You’ll be picked up by car and taken to the top of the Blue Mountains. Then you and your bachelor party group will spend hours cycling down while viewing the expansive beauty of Jamaica. Plus, you’ll get to cool off in a few waterfalls on your way down.

Clubbing

Negril or Montego Bay

There’s quite an active nightlife scene in Jamaica. If you and your group are looking for a fun night of drinks and dancing, then you’ll want to plan on hitting a few clubs around Negril or Montego Bay. The good news is there are plenty to choose from.
